What Is an Anytime Touchdown?
An anytime touchdown bet pays out if your chosen player scores a touchdown at any point in the game, whether he runs it in or catches it.
- Rushing and receiving touchdowns both count.
- Passing touchdowns do NOT count for the passer; only the player who crosses the goal line gets credit.
- A quarterback cashes his own anytime bet by rushing one in.
- Defensive and special-teams scores by that player usually count, but it depends on the book's house rules.
- Overtime counts; anytime means the whole game.
- If the player is inactive, most books void the bet and return the stake.
Does a passing touchdown count as an anytime touchdown?
No, not for the player who threw it. The bet follows the ball across the goal line: the receiver who catches a 5-yard touchdown gets anytime credit, and the quarterback who threw it does not. This is the single most common way these bets surprise people, because a three-touchdown passing day can still lose a quarterback's anytime ticket.
What is an anytime touchdown for a QB?
A quarterback's anytime touchdown is a rushing score: the goal-line sneak, the scramble, the designed keeper. Mobile quarterbacks with short-yardage roles carry real anytime value; pocket passers almost never do. Our board prices this through each quarterback's simulated rushing usage near the goal line.
Do defensive or special teams touchdowns count?
Usually yes when that specific player scores them, but this is the one rule that genuinely varies by book. Some grade any touchdown by the named player; others restrict the market to offensive plays. Read the market rules where you bet; do not assume.
Does overtime count for an anytime touchdown?
Yes. The market covers the entire game, overtime included. A sudden-death walk-off score cashes exactly like an opening-drive one.
What happens if the player does not play?
Inactive and never takes a snap: voided and refunded at most books. Active but barely used: typically the bet stands. The difference is why checking the inactives 90 minutes before kickoff is a habit worth building.
